Note: This is extremely difficult faction-wise for anyone other than a Dark Elf Necromancer, Shadow Knight or Cleric (must have amiable faction with The Dead, the dark elf necromancer and shadow knight guild).

An enchanter can charm Kizdean for the note, however the final turn in NPC cannot be charmed. Raising The Dead faction is possible (if tedious) by killing high elf or gnome casters from Eldritch Collective or Keepers of the Art such as Linara Parlone or Retlon Brenclog. Dark elf form or Guise of the Deceiver will also help. Faction can potentially be bypassed as both the Thex Mallet and Reaper of the Dead are tradable.

Travel now to the West Commonlands and find Kizdean Gix near the tollbooth.

Travel to Befallen. Inside, near the well, you will find Skeleton Lrodd who is a guaranteed spawn and indifferent to all players. Give him the note.

Handing in the note will spawn Cmdr Windstream on level 3. He spawns on the chair/throne just through the invisible wall. Kill him, and he will drop the "Mallet Stem."

The An Elf Skeleton is located on the same floor as Cmdr Windstream. Coming from the bottom of the well, the elf skeleton is just on the other side of the fake wall and to the left, next to the spikes near the hanging dwarf torso. If you're coming down from the zone in, it's beyond the second locked door at the bottom of the broken staircase. It will drop the Mallet Head, Mallet Hilt or neither. When you have both, put the Mallet Head and Mallet Hilt inside the Mallet Stem and hit Combine. This will complete the Thex Mallet. An Elf Skeleton has a 6:40 respawn time.

Journey back to Neriak 3rd Gate and give the mallet to Loveal S`Nez.
